You may understand your anxiety.
You may know your history.
You may have tried coping strategies, coaching, or self-help, and still feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck.
Therapy at The Sensible Psychologist is designed for people who want meaningful, sustainable change rather than short-term symptom management.
How This Therapy Works:
Dr Carrie focuses on understanding how anxiety, trauma, and prolonged stress affect the nervous system, patterns of thinking, and emotional regulation over time.
Rather than chasing symptoms, therapy here is paced and intentional. We work together to identify how stress responses develop, why certain patterns repeat, and what actually supports recovery and resilience in real life.
The goal is not to eliminate discomfort at all costs, but to increase clarity, capacity, and flexibility — so life requires less effort to manage.
Areas of Focus:
• Anxiety and chronic stress
• Trauma and complex trauma
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Burnout and overwhelm
• Emotional regulation and recovery
What Makes This Approach Different:
This is not a one-size-fits-all or technique-driven model.
Therapy here emphasizes:
• Understanding patterns rather than labeling symptoms
• Thoughtful pacing rather than urgency
• Nervous system awareness alongside cognitive work
• Practical strategies grounded in psychological science
Is This the Right Fit?
This therapy may be a good fit if you:
• Feel high-functioning but internally exhausted
• Want depth without drama
• Are open to understanding patterns instead of blaming yourself
• Prefer a calm, collaborative approach
• Are looking for change that lasts
