With nearly 25 years in private practice as a licensed psychologist, I’ve worked with individuals, leaders, and organizations who are highly capable — and still overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck in patterns that aren’t serving them. I’ve found that sustainable change comes not from quick fixes or willpower, but from understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and then making skillful changes in practical, grounded ways.
Why This Matters:
Whether you’re here seeking therapy, learning how to navigate life’s inevitable difficulties, or looking for ways to help your team thrive under pressure, The Sensible Psychologist is:
• Practical
• Thoughtful
• Grounded in evidence
• Oriented toward sustainable change

My approach is grounded in psychological science and real-world application. Rather than focusing on problems alone, I pay attention to how stress and trauma shape nervous system responses, decision-making and behavior over time. Then we put in evidence-based solutions to support resilience, flexibility and sustainable functioning at home and work.
Professional Background
I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado and Montana and hold a telehealth license in 41 other states through PSYPACT. I have extensive experience treating anxiety, trauma, and stress-related conditions. Over the past two decades, I have integrated evidence-based approaches (such as EMDR, ACT, and CBT) with a practical understanding of how people function under real-world demands.
In addition to my clinical practice, I work with organizations, leaders, and teams to translate psychological insight into usable strategies for resilience and performance. My speaking and training work includes a collaboration with The Resilience Institute where we psychological insight is translated into practical strategies so teams can function well, even under pressure.
On a Personal Note:
You may have noticed all of the beach pictures. While I live in the mountains and adore hiking (I have a goal to hike goal is 275 miles this year!), the beach is my original happy place.
